Try A Tri: 2.5km
Sprint: 5km
Standard (& Relay): 10km
Cut-off time: Run Course is closed 4hr after last swim start. If started on-time, then it would be closed at 11:20am
From the transition area all athletes will head east on Lakeshore Drive to Okanagan Park, then follow the pathway through the park and behind the Art Gallery. Follow the sidewalk on Marina Way to Abbott Street. Turn right to tackle Abbott Street (steep hill!) and left on Vancouver Ave. Follow Vancouver Ave. to Vancouver Place and turn left. Athletes will join the crushed gravel KVR trail at the end of Vancouver Place.
Try A Tri: Instead of running onto the KVR, athletes will turn around at the Aid Station at the entrance to KVR and take the same route back to the finish!
Sprint: Athletes will turn around at 1.12km into the KVR trail; this will be well marked. Return via the same route back to the finish!
Standard: Athletes will do a 3.62km run on the scenic KVR trail through vineyards and orchards and over the trestle away from traffic. The turnaround is 300m past Davenport Ave. 1 loop only.
Note: All turnaround locations are well marked, fully monitored, and controlled. Course maps are subject to final approval.
Finish Line!
After crossing the finish line, please ensure a volunteer removes your timing chip before you leave the finish chute area. Don’t forget to thank your Volunteer!
Aid Stations:
Since each run course is an out and back loop, you will pass each aid station twice and there are three total. For the Try A Tri, there is one at the start of the run, and then again at the turn around at the end of Vancouver Place/Entrance to KVR. For the Sprint Distance, there is one at the start of the run, one at 1.38km and 2.5km (turn around) and the same on the way back. For the Standard Distance, there are the following aid stations: exit of transition, entrance of KVR at 1.38km, 2.5km, 4.7km, 5.3km, 7.5km, and 8.62km, and of course at the finish line.
