Hope that helps. Happy racing!
Hi Barb, in regards to your question I don’t think there is really a 3 stage outfit that you can wear for the race. The swim definitely requires a wetsuit. The pros and many other athletes do wear a bike/run suit under their wetsuit so they are doing minimal changing after the swim. In the past I have worn my cycling/running jersey and shorts under my wet suit. It’s all personal choice stuff. In shorter races time is more important I guess vs an Ironman race . . . unless you are very competitive. My personal opinion but I would recommend a full wet suit . . .you never know what the water temp is going to be on race day! Having a full suit also gives you the ability to do races earlier and later in the year. I have known numerous people that have bought shorties and then wished they had the long sleeves. Again, personal choice. Hope that helps! Happy racing.

Novices at this!
My husband is a distance runner who has just registered for his first Try-a-Tri in Ottawa. He is planning to just rent a wetsuit; however, I would like to purchase one for him and was wondering whether there was such an item as a suit that can be worn for all 3 stages of the event. If not, what would be best to buy? Short-sleeved? Short-legs? Will the short legs still keep his biking/running shorts dry? You can see we are novices at this! Hope you can help.
